Early life and education

Sanam Jung was born in Karachi, Pakistan. While specific details regarding her family background are limited, she was raised in a Muslim household. She possesses fluency in both Urdu and English.

Jung pursued higher education while simultaneously entering the media industry. She studied for her undergraduate degree in Business Administration, specializing in Banking and Finance, at the Institute of Business Management in Karachi. Later, she enrolled in an MBA program focusing on Finance at the College of Business Management. These academic pursuits occurred during the early stages of her professional journey.

Career

The media career of Sanam Jung began in 2008. She started working as a video jockey on Play TV. During this period, she was still completing her undergraduate studies. In 2010, she transitioned to AAG TV while pursuing her MBA.

Jung made her acting debut in the Hum TV series Dil e Muztar in 2013. She performed alongside Imran Abbas Naqvi, Sarwat Gilani, Aijaz Aslam and Saba Hameed. Following this debut, she appeared in Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai in 2013 with Mikaal Zulfiqar and Adeel Hussain. Her subsequent roles included Mere Humdum Mere Dost in 2014 and Alvida in 2015. The latter featured her once again with Imran Abbas Naqvi.

Television hosting became a major pillar of her professional life. From 2014 until 30 November 2018, she hosted the morning show Jago Pakistan Jago on Hum TV. She also served as the host for Utho Jago Pakistan alongside Ahsan Khan for a period of 21 days. These roles established her as a familiar face in Pakistani households.

Jung returned to acting with the 2019 production Mein Na Janoo. This project was a joint venture between MD Productions and Cereal Production of Adnan Siddiqui. In 2020, she took on a different type of role in the series Qarar. She portrayed a negative character named Maya alongside Mikaal Zulfiqar, Rabab Hashim and Muneeb Butt. Her recent work includes an appearance in the telefilm Dulhe Main Le Ke Jaungi.
