Saboor Ali Ansari is a Pakistani actress. She was born on 3 March 1995 in Lahore, Punjab.
Early life and education
Ali was born to Rahat Ali, a housewife, and Syed Ali, a businessman. Her elder sister is the actress Sajal Aly, while her younger brother is named Ali Syed. Although she reported being angry at her father because he left her mother to marry a second time, she now shares a close bond with him. She completed her primary education at Lahore Grammar School in Rahim Yar Khan.
She later enrolled in a college affiliated with Punjab University. However, she deferred her studies so that she could pursue acting.
Career
The actress began her professional journey with a small role in Choti Si Kahani. She followed this with a supporting role in the 2011 family drama Mehmoodabad Ki Malkain on ARY Digital, where she appeared alongside her sister. After this appearance, she worked with Sajal Aly again in an episode of the anthology series Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain. She also featured in the romantic drama Bunty I Love You, which starred Saba Qamar.
In 2015, she received recognition for a comic role in the sitcom Mr. Shamim. Her film debut occurred in September 2016 when she appeared in Nabeel Qureshi's socio-comedy Actor in Law. This film featured Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat and Om Puri. Her portrayal of a supportive sister earned her a nomination for a Lux Style Award.
Ali transitioned into leading roles in several television productions. She starred in the 2018 telefilm Nanu Aur Main, which focuses on the relationship between a grandfather and his granddaughter. Following this success, she played second-lead roles in Teri Meri Kahani and Visaal. Visaal remains one of the highest-rated Pakistani dramas from 2018.
She continued her work with leading roles in Mere Khudaya in 2018 and Gul-o-Gulzar in 2019. In 2020, she starred in Fitrat, a performance that earned her a Lux Style Award. Her recent television work includes the 2021 drama Parizaad, where she played a tomboy, and the 2022 series Mushkil.
Personal life
Ali moved to Karachi in 2011 to begin her career, but she returned to Lahore in 2015. She and her family performed Umrah in 2017, which took place a few days before her mother died of cancer. On 8 January 2022, she married actor Ali Ansari at the Parsi Institute in Karachi. They welcomed a daughter in March 2025.
Awards and recognition
The actress has received multiple accolades for her television performances. She earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Lux Style Awards for her film work. For her role in Fitrat, she won the Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress. Additionally, she received the Hum Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Parizaad.
