Armeena Khan

Armeena Rana Khan is a Pakistani-Canadian actress and model who works in film and television. She holds dual citizenship of Pakistan and Canada.

Early life and education

Khan was born in Toronto, Ontario, to parents of Pashtun and Punjabi origins. Her father works as a businessman while her mother is a homemaker. She grew up with one brother and two sisters. Although she completed her early schooling in Toronto, her family later relocated to Manchester. She attended the University of Manchester and earned an Honors degree in Business Administration.

She later pursued specialized training in method acting at both Ealing Studios and Pinewood Studios. Khan is fluent in English and Urdu, and she can also read Arabic.

Career

Khan began her professional journey in 2010 as a model. She worked on commercials for various brands such as Sprite and Nishat Linen. She later transitioned into acting with the British short film "Writhe," where she played a serial killer. This film was selected for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Khan claimed that she was the first Pakistani actress to walk at Cannes in 2013.

Her television career included a role in the 2013 sitcom Happily Married on ARY Digital. She also appeared in the series Shab-e-Arzu ka Alam alongside Mohib Mirza. The year 2014 brought her breakthrough role as an antagonist in the romantic series Muhabbat Ab Nahi Hugi. This performance earned her a nomination for the Hum Awards in 2015. She followed this success with starring roles in the series Ishq Parast and Karb, where she worked with Adnan Siddiqui.

In 2013, she made her Bollywood debut in the film Huff! It's Too Much. Khan gained significant fame through the 2015 romantic drama Bin Roye, which starred Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed. This project was based on the novel Bin Roye Aansu by Farhat Ishtiaq. She also appeared in the music video "Sajna" during 2015. This single was sung by Uzair Jaswal and received nationwide recognition.

Her filmography includes the romantic comedy Janaan and the war drama Yalghaar. Both films rank among the highest-grossing Pakistani films of all time. In 2017, she appeared in the television drama Rasm E Duniya and the social drama Daldal. She played the lead role in the 2019 patriotic war film Sherdil. After a 4 year hiatus, she returned to television in 2025 for the Hum TV series Meri Tanhai.

Personal life

Khan announced her engagement to British Pakistani businessman Fesl Reza-Khan via Twitter in July 2017. He proposed to her on a beach located in Cuba. The couple married during a Nikah ceremony in London on 14 February 2020. They became parents to a daughter named Amelie Isla in December 2022.

Awards and recognition

The actress received a Best Villain nomination at the Hum Awards for her work in Muhabbat Ab Nahi Hugi. She also earned a nomination for the Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Bin Roye. This recognition came after she played a girl next door in the 2015 production.
