Sanam Chaudhry is a Pakistani former actress and model who appeared in various Urdu television series and films. She began her professional journey in the entertainment industry through modeling and acting roles before retiring from the profession in August 2021.

Early life and education

Sanam Chaudhry was born on 27 August 1991 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She later moved to Pakistan where she completed her higher education. Chaudhry received her graduation from the University of Central Punjab.

She has a younger sister named Zaib Chaudhry. Zaib is also an actress.

Career

Chaudhry made her acting debut in 2012 with a supporting role in the production Mazung De Meena Sheena. In 2013, she portrayed a rich and arrogant girl in the melodramatic series Aasmanon Pay Likha. This performance featured Sheheryar Munawar and Sajal Aly. She subsequently debuted as a lead actress in Bhool alongside Sarah Khan and Shehroz Sabzwari.

Her television work continued throughout 2014 when she appeared in the romantic series Mere Meherbaan with Ayeza Khan and Aagha Ali. She also played an affluent girl in the tragedy series Tere Mere Beech. In 2016, she acted as a kind-hearted woman in Zindagi Tujh Ko Jiya opposite Furqan Qureshi.

The actress gained immense popularity through her role as Anji, a cunning girl, in the betrayal friendship series Ghar Titli Ka Par. This production featured Aiman Khan and Shahzad Sheikh. In 2018, she played an antagonistic tomboy in Rubaru Tha Ishq alongside Danish Taimoor and Ushna Shah. She also appeared as Maryam in the spiritual series Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai.

Chaudhry appeared in the social awareness series Haiwan in 2018 with Wahaj Ali and Faysal Quraishi. Her final television role was as a middle-class girl in Meer Abru alongside Noor Hassan Rizvi. She transitioned to cinema by making her film debut in Jackpot in 2018. Chaudhry retired from her acting career in August 2021.

Personal life

Chaudhry married singer Somee Chohan on 27 November 2019. The couple welcomed a son on 5 October 2020.

Awards and recognition

She is a recipient of the Hum Award for Best Soap actress following her work in Zindagi Tujh Ko Jiya. She also earned a nomination for the Hum Award for Best Soap actress for her performance in Bhool. In 2018, she received a nomination for the ARY Digital Social Media Drama Awards for Best Actress.

The actress appeared on several industry lists during her career. She was ranked third in "Most Beautiful Faces of 2016" and was included in the "Top 10 Pakistani Drama Actors" list in 2019. In 2020, she was featured in a list for "Most Memorable Female Characters" due to her roles in Ghar Titli Ka Par and Meer Abru.
