Ramsha Khan is a Pakistani actress who works primarily in Urdu-language television. She is recognized for her versatility across various genres and has received multiple industry honors.

Early life and education

Ramsha Khan was born on 23 June 1994 in Karachi, Sindh. Before she transitioned into acting, she began her professional career as a model. This early experience in the fashion industry helped establish her presence in the media.

Career

Khan made her acting debut in 2017 with the drama film Thora Jee Le, where she played an aspiring businesswoman. Although the film was a commercial failure, she continued to work steadily throughout that year. She appeared in Woh Aik Pal alongside Feroze Khan and in Tumhari Marium with Junaid Khan. During 2017, she also performed in two telefilms titled Teen Shauqeen and Mohabbat Hogaye Aakhir. The latter featured Bilal Abbas Khan.

Her work gained significant momentum in 2018 when she played Shifa Taqi Lodhi in Mah-e-Tamaam. She received praise for this role as well as her performance as Uswah in the series Khudparast, which ran from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, she starred in Kaisa Hai Naseeban as Marium Ahmed, a character facing marital abuse. This production became one of the highest rated serials on Pakistani television.

The year 2021 marked a major turning point for her career. She portrayed Samiya, an independent girl, in the drama Ghisi Piti Mohabbat. A reviewer from Daily Times noted her impeccable comic timing and facial expressions during this period. Following this success, she played the role of Pariwesh Jamal, an army officer, in the women centric series Sinf-e-Aahan from 2021 to 2022. The lead cast members even received military training for these roles.

In 2022, Khan played a college chemistry student named Neha Qutub ud Din in the Ramadan special Hum Tum. This series earned her widespread praise across both Pakistan and India. She continued her work in 2023 by appearing in the anthology film Teri Meri Kahaniyaan. The News International highlighted her strong screen presence in this production.

Khan also starred as Tabassum Mughal in Jannat Se Aagay during 2023. Nudrat Nazir from The Nation reported that she performed the character's innocent and heroic worship in the best possible way. She began 2024 by portraying Ana Dilawez in Duniyapur. Later that year, she appeared as a doctor named Tabeer Aslam in the mini series Nadaan.

Personal life

Khan is considered one of the most popular actresses in Pakistan. She serves as a brand ambassador for several companies, including Nestlé, TUC, 7Up, Pond's and Hum Mart. In 2021, she modeled for the Mirha collection by designer Abeera Usman during Hum Bridal Couture Week.

Awards and recognition

She has earned several prestigious accolades throughout her professional journey. Khan won the ARY People's Choice Award for Favorite Actress for her role in Ghisi Piti Mohabbat. She also received a nomination for Favorite Actress in a role of Wife for her performance in Ishqiya in 2020.

Her talent has been recognized by various media outlets and award bodies. For her work in Hum Tum, she received a Lux Style Award nomination for Best TV Actress. Additionally, Images Dawn included her in their "Standout Performances: Female" lists for both 2019 and 2021.
