Early life and education
Saba Hameed was born on 21 June 1957 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. She is the daughter of Hameed Akhtar, a noted writer and columnist, and Saadia, who works as a film producer. Her upbringing in Lahore provided a foundation for her future in the arts.
She attended the Lahore College for Women University for her studies. Hameed's family includes several individuals involved in the entertainment industry. She has three sisters and one brother. Two of her sisters, Huma Hameed and Lalarukh Hameed, are also actresses.
Career
Hameed began her professional career as an actress in 1978. She primarily works on television but also expanded her reach into other mediums. From the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, she performed in theatre productions. This period helped establish her presence in the performing arts.

Hameed was married to Syed Pervaiz Shafi from 1980 to 1990. They have two children together: daughter Meesha Shafi and son Faris Shafi. Both children are active in the industry as an actress and a singer. In 1993, she married actor Waseem Abbas.
Waseem Abbas has a son named Ali Abbas from his first marriage. Hameed stands 5’5″ tall and possesses black hair and black eyes. She is multilingual and speaks English, Urdu and Punjabi. Her personal interests include music and book reading.
