Maira Khan is a Pakistani television and film actress, model, and former VJ. She gained significant recognition through her work in various dramas and commercials. Her career spans several decades of media presence in Pakistan.

Early life and education

Maira Khan was born on 27 July 1984 in Karachi, Pakistan. She is the daughter of actress Shakeela Anayat. This lineage inspired her to enter the entertainment industry. Khan has one step brother and one step sister. She attended BAMM PECHS Karachi for her education.

Her professional journey began at a very young age. She started working as a child actor when she was only four years old.

Career

Khan made her debut as a child star on PTV. Her early work included the hit TV serial Jaise Jante Nahin and the drama Rang E Hina. After this initial period, she left the showbiz industry for ten years. She eventually resumed her career as a VJ on Play TV. This return marked a new chapter in her media life.

She has appeared on various networks including Indus TV, Hum TV, ARY TV, TV One and Geo TV. Her television acting credits include dramas such as Tauhmat, Aross Paross, Kaash, Ishq samandar, Kese hain doorian, Be Emaan, Jiya na jayee and Cheekh. She also appeared in the productions Bewafa and Durj. Khan transitioned to cinema with her film debut in 2013. She starred in the political film Chambaili, directed by Shehzad Nawaz and Ismail Jilani.

Her filmography continues with appearances in Revenge of the Worthless in 2016. In the film Chambaili, her character represents the strength of a woman. She also works as a host for a popular talk show. Beyond acting, she has performed as a VJ and worked for the music channel Oxygen.

Khan has also engaged in commercial modeling. She appeared in advertisements for Habib Bank Savour Account and other brands. Recently, she participated as a contestant on the reality show Tamasha. This show aired on ARY Digital and the ARY ZAP app. According to reports, she was evicted toward the end of the competition after an incident involving another contestant.
