Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui is a Pakistani film and television actor, director, and producer. Born on 9 August 1988 in Karachi, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the local media industry. He began his professional journey in 2012 and quickly achieved significant success across various platforms.
Early life and education
Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui was born in Karachi, Sindh, to Munawar Alam Siddiqui and Ameena Munawar Siddiqui. His father is a retired Pakistan Air Force officer who later transitioned into business. During his childhood, the family relocated to Islamabad for a brief period. He completed his O Levels at The City School before returning to Karachi to finish his A Levels at Southshore School. Following his secondary education, he attended the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi. There, he pursued a bachelor's degree specializing in finance and marketing.
His family includes several notable individuals. His sister, Nadia, is a business graduate. He has two brothers, Asfandyar and Manoucheher. Sadly, his elder brother Asfandyar passed away in a car accident on 23 December 2012. His uncle, Mazhar ul Haq Siddiqui, is a senior civil servant and former vice-chancellor of Sindh University. Another uncle, Jahangir Siddiqui, serves as the founder of JS Group.
Career
After graduating from IBA, Sheheryar worked for a German venture capitalist company in Karachi. He entered the creative sphere by winning an advertisement-making competition for KFC. He subsequently appeared in an advertisement for Omoré before deciding to quit his corporate job to pursue acting. His career began with modeling for various brands, including Coca Cola, Lipton, and Jazz Q Mobiles. He made his acting debut in 2012 with the television series Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley. In this role, he portrayed a deaf and dumb boy.
He continued to build his television portfolio through several high-profile projects. He appeared in the social drama Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay in 2012. At the request of his aunt, Sultana Siddiqui, he played a supporting role in the popular romance Zindagi Gulzar Hai in 2013. His subsequent work included the series Kahi Un Kahi and the Geo TV melodrama Aasmanon Pay Likha in 2014. These roles helped him gain nationwide recognition as a versatile performer.
Sheheryar transitioned into film with significant commercial success. In 2016, he starred in and co-produced the musical drama Ho Mann Jahaan. He played a struggling musician in this film, which became one of the highest-grossing Pakistani movies of that year. He followed this with the romantic comedy 7 Din Mohabbat In in 2018. In 2019, he appeared in the science fiction film Project Ghazi alongside Humayun Saeed. Later that year, he starred in the romantic comedy Parey Hut Love, earning critical acclaim for his performance.

Sheheryar has shared details regarding his heritage in previous interviews. He is reported to be of Sindhi descent from his paternal side and Brahui maternally. His family maintains strong ties to the media industry through his aunt, Sultana Siddiqui, who founded the Hum Network. His father also serves as a board member for the network.

Throughout his career, Sheheryar has received several prestigious honors. He won the Hum Award for Best Television Sensation following his debut in 2012. For his performance in Ho Mann Jahaan, he earned the Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actor. His work in Parey Hut Love also resulted in two Best Actor nominations at the Lux Style Awards.
