Faisal Karim Khan Kundi hails from a known political family of the North West Frontier Province. He has the honour of being the youngest (33 years old) elected Deputy Speaker in the history of Pakistan. Born in 1975 in Dera Ismail Khan he had his early education in Dera Ismail Khan. After wards he has graduated from Thames Valley University, London, UK. He is a law gradute.

His father Mr Fazal Karim Kundi had defeated Maulana Fazal-ur Rehman in 1990 on PPP ticket. His maternal grandfather, Justice (Retd) Faizulllah Khan Kundi served as federal minister with Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Career
He started his political career in 2003 and served PPP as Divisional Coordinator D.I.Khan Division. His father Fazal Karim Kundi was elected as MNA in 1990 on PPP ticket, and remained Chairman District Council D.I.Khan for two consecutive terms i.e. from 1983 to 1991. His maternal grand father Justice (R) Faizullah Khan Kundi was also a member of the West Pakistan Assembly in 1960s. His maternal grandfather served as Senior Judge of Peshawar High Court in sixty’s, Federal Minister for Establishment in the PPP government of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1971-72 and later as Chairman Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) from 1972 to 1979

Faisal Karim Kundi’s great grandfather Barrister Abdul Rahim Kundi has the distinction of being the first Deputy Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Legislative Assembly from 1932 to 1937.

Faisal Karim Kundi, elected as the 17th Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan on March 19, 2008. He secured 246 votes out of 318 polled. During his stay in London he remained in touch with Benazir Bhutto. He started his political career in 2003 and served PPP as Divisional Coordinator D.I.Khan Division. Pakistan grateful to Turkey for disaster homes – Kundi
ANKARA, 19 February 2011: Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi met the President of Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) Mr. Erdogan Bayraktar at his Ankara office and thanked the Turkish Government for building 4620 houses for flood affectees of Pakistan.
Mr. Kundi, who is leading a seven-member Parliamentary delegation on his visit to Turkey, requested Bayraktar to build more houses in Pakistan and assured him for all kinds of assistance including providing land for construction. He also requested Mr. Bayraktar to build community facilities along with disaster homes.
TOKI President Bayraktar said Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan instructed him to finish the disaster houses in Pakistan as soon as possible. “We will also build facilities like health center and trade center along with houses,” said Mr. Bayraktar adding “these houses will be built on high altitude areas in order to protect these from possible floods and match the cultural structure of Pakistan,.” He said Pakistan needs urgent housing and this can be achieved by establishing house manufacturing factories to build low cost houses on a fast track.
The delegation included Members National Assembly Mr. Usman Muhammad and Ms Shireen Arshad, Senators Mr. Muhamad Kazim Khan, Ms Simeen Yusuf Siddiqui, Mr Mohammad Saleh Shah and Mir Lashkar Raisani.
