Ayub Khoso is a prominent Pakistani actor of film and television. His career spans more than 30 years within the entertainment industry. Early life and education

Ayub Khoso was born in 1959. He is the son of a Baloch father and a Pashtun mother. His birthplace is reported as Khuzdar, Balochistan, though other sources list Jafarabad District. He is an ethnic Baloch by caste.

Khoso attended the University of Balochistan. He graduated from this institution to further his academic background. He possesses impressive linguistic skills. He is fluent in Balochi, Pashto, Brahui, Sindhi, Urdu and English.

Career

The actor begins his journey in acting during his school years. He transitions into a professional actor in 1984. His debut television appearance occurs in the drama Chhaon. This production is telecast from the PTV Quetta Centre.

Khoso appears in many Balochi dramas broadcast by Pakistan Television. He also performs in Urdu dramas across various locations in Pakistan. Currently, he works on Sindhi channels such as KTN and Sindh TV. He serves as a director for many dramas in which he also acts.

His film career includes significant roles in major cinematic productions. He appears in the 2007 film Khuda Kay Liye, which is a massive hit by Shoaib Mansoor. This role helps cement his reputation in the Pakistani film industry.

Beyond the screen, Khoso engages in political activities. He supports the Pakistan Peoples Party from Jacobabad, Sindh. During the 2018 Pakistan general elections, he contests for the PS-101 (Karachi East-III) seat on a Pakistan Peoples Party ticket. He secures 5121 votes during this election. He loses the seat to Firdous Naqvi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Awards and recognition

The Pakistan National Council of Arts recognizes Khoso in 2011. They dedicate an entire evening to him to honor his contributions to the television industry. A special play titled Main Kaun Hoon (Who AM I) is screened during this event. Shoaib Khaliq directs this play, and Khoso performs the lead role.

He receives several accolades for his acting talent. He has been nominated as best actor by Pakistan TV and KTN TV. These nominations highlight his enduring impact on regional television.
