Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi

Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi is a Pakistani politician who served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab. He represents the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. His political career includes significant roles within the provincial government during the tenure of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

Early life and education

Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi was born on 23 September 1982. He belongs to a wealthy family from Sargodha. While his family is rooted in Sargodha, he is reported to belong to district Mianwali. He completed his higher studies in the early years of the new millennium.

Niazi received a master level education. He earned a B.B.A. in 2005. This academic background provided him with the foundation for his later professional life.

Career

Niazi entered the political arena as a candidate for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He initially ran for a seat in the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from PP-35 Sargodha. This specific attempt proved unsuccessful. However, he remained active within the party structure.

Success followed in the 2018 Punjab provincial election. He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab representing the constituency of PP-78 (Sargodha-VII). His victory established him as a prominent figure within the PTI. He served as a member of the assembly from August 2018 until January 2023.

His legislative role led to an appointment in the provincial cabinet. On 27 August 2018, he was inducted into the Punjab cabinet under Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. He held the position of Provincial Minister of Punjab for Labour and Human Resource. This ministerial role continued until April 2022. During this period, he also served as an ex-officio Chairman of the Governing Body for the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution.
