Mohammed Ali Shehki Interview

Shahky’s Love for his Country

When did you start singing?
The day I found myself in this planet.

How did you feel to be a part of the media?

It feels good, but very uncertain!

How many patriotic/national songs you have sung?
As many as you could imagine, however, some of them have been mega hits!

Your favorite inspirational national song?

All songs of Noor Jehan, Mehdi Hassan and Ustad Amanat Ali’s.

Looking at the situation in Pakistan today, do you feel that the sacrifice of 1947 was worth it?
I guess those were entirely different times and given situations, since we live in a different period, I cannot judge.

Do you feel that there was any need for the separation of India and Pakistan?

According to my information, it was needed to free the better human beings, from the idiotic cast system and the fanatic discriminations of race,
colour, cast and religion! It was inevitable.

Out of all the revolutions of the world, which one would you like to be a part of?

May be Ibrahim Lincoln’s,in fact which ever was for the sake of humanity!

Do you think media/music can bring any kind of peace in the days of war?

Well! Good media, music could bring peace and harmony, while distorted would bring further destruction!

What do you think of the present day situation between India and Pakistan? Do you think media has done any good to lessen the tension between these two countries?
I would say yes! Bravo! They have both done well to mend fences, to end a pointless enmity and become friends at last.

How will you describe yourself as a Pakistani?

Like any other nationality, however, we should develop better under-standing and belief as the country as gift of god!

What do you plan to do for Pakistan in the future?
I wish I had the resources, I would get rid of illiteracy! Abolish double standards, introduce strict laws of human rights, get rid of corruption, bribery, and introduce stem laws for clean, neat and hygienic food and water for all rich or poor, make laws that every individual grows a tree, a plant so that we do not suffocate of carbon dioxide and other poisonous gases, which are otherwise absorbed by trees/plants…. and much more etc
