About the ProfilePK editorial team

ProfilePK is researched, written and edited by a small collective working under the ProfilePK editorial banner. The team focuses exclusively on Pakistani biography — actors, singers, cricketers, journalists, politicians, doctors, religious scholars, comedians and other public figures whose work belongs to Pakistani cultural and civic life.

Editorial principles

  • Verifiable facts first. Each profile is built around dates, places, named relationships and documented public roles. Where a fact cannot be reliably sourced, it is omitted rather than guessed.
  • Authoritative sources. Wikidata, Wikipedia, IMDb, official broadcaster archives (PTV, Hum, GEO, ARY), the Pakistan Cricket Board, the Election Commission of Pakistan and peer-reviewed press are the preferred sources for biographical claims.
  • Dignity of the subject. Profiles cover careers, public service and publicly disclosed personal milestones. They do not publish residential addresses, private telephone numbers, unverified rumour or content sourced from leaked personal material.
  • Living people are reviewed regularly. “Currently” statements are revisited periodically so that role descriptions reflect reality. Past tense is used for completed roles even when colloquial sources still use the present tense.
  • Corrections are taken seriously. Reader-submitted corrections are reviewed against original sources and applied openly, with a visible “Updated” date on the affected profile.

How research is conducted

For each profile, the team starts from structured biographical data when it exists — typically Wikidata’s record for the person, plus the English Wikipedia article where one exists. Career details for actors and presenters are checked against IMDb and against the relevant broadcaster’s official drama or programme archive. Cricketing statistics are checked against the Pakistan Cricket Board’s official records. Political career details are checked against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s published records of National and Provincial Assembly membership.

Where structured data does not exist — for instance, for many regional figures, second-tier television personalities, religious scholars and comedians who are widely known in Pakistan but not on the English internet — the team relies on cross-referencing of Pakistani press coverage, broadcaster bios and public interviews, and explicitly limits factual claims to what can be corroborated across at least two independent sources.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish AI-generated photographs of real individuals.
  • We do not publish net-worth estimates as factual claims when no first-hand source exists.
  • We do not accept payment for editorial coverage of any individual or organisation.
  • We do not host advertorial content disguised as biographical reference.
